Ma 242: Elementary Statistics

Students will present descriptive and summary statistics, address basic probability questions, interpret one and two population statistical tests for means and proportions, confidence intervals, correlation, and simple linear regression. Emphasis will be placed on how to draw conclusions from data within the context of the data. 3 credits. Prerequisite: Math ACT 20 or above, or Math SAT 550 or above, or Quantitative CLT 18 or above, or Ma 090, or placement into Ma 111 or higher.
