2024 Guthrie Mathematics Tournament

February 3, 2024

26 individual participants, including 8 students returning from the 2023 competition, formed 10 teams to compete individually and as teams.  Students attempted 30 problems across a variety of mathematical subdisciplines in the individual competition.  Teams collaborated on solving 10 different challenge questions requiring a variety of mathematical skills as well as logical thinking.  Teams also participated in a speed round testing how quickly they could come up with correct answers to math related questions.

The event included a presentation on the mathematical topic of fractals, as session on how to pick a college for STEM majors, and a math and logic based puzzle challenge similar to an escape room just for fun at the end of the day.

Thanks to everyone (and their sponsors) who attended and congratulations to this year's winners.
